Carlos Freitag For President 22/05/2013

Carlos Freitag, WDSF President

WDSF President Carlos Freitag has thrown in his hat and stands as candidate for President of the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARSIF) in Monday's elections.

Concurrently with the 2013 SportAccord Convention in St Petersburg, RUS, ARISF holds its Annual Meeting on Monday 27 May. Elections to the ARISF Council will be on the agenda then.

After ARISF President Jan Fransoo (IKF - Korfball) announced that he would not present himself for a third consecutive term, Carlos Freitag, who has served as a Vice-President until now, accepted the challenge and formalised his candidature for the presidency.

Carlos Freitag is running against fellow Council Member Raffaele Chiulli (UIM - Powerboating) in a race that he describes as very friendly. "I have a good relationship with the other candidate for the Presidency," he said. "We are good friends and if he is elected, of course I will serve him too."
