Carlos Freitag Resigns 23/01/2016

Carlos Freitag On January 23, 2016 WDSF President Carlos Freitag resigned as WDSF President. He informed the members of the WDSF Presidium of his decision on the occasion of the Presidium’s meeting that is currently in progress in Barcelona, ESP.

His colleagues thanked Mr Freitag for services rendered to DanceSport and WDSF over the past 14 years, as WDSF General Secretary through 2005 and as President since then.

President Freitag underwent extensive heart surgery in May of 2015 and felt that to recover completely from that experience he should reduce his workload.

According to Article 16(4) of the Statutes of the World DanceSport Federation, the current First Vice-President, Lukas Hinder, of Switzerland, automatically assumes the Presidency of WDSF effective immediately.
