First DanceSport Academy Workshop 20/10/2010

Winkelhuis About 50 participants enrolled for the first workshop held under the auspices of the IDSF DanceSport Academy. The topics which the workshop addressed:

Teaching, learning and observing methods,

Presence on the competition floor,

Developing charisma.

All attendees agreed that this premiere was an outstanding success due to Maximiliaan Winkelhuis being an inspirational lecturer, and due to fact that he managed to establish the most enthusiastic dialogue between himself and his audience.

Just how much the participants appreciated Winkelhuis' lectures is best reflected in the comments they made at the conclusion of the worksop.  Read through the opinions voiced by dancers, adjudicators, coaches and trainers!

Simone Segatori and Annette Sudol, GER:

"We are very glad that we had the opportunity to participate in the first IDSF DanceSport Academy workshop held in Zagreb, Croatia,  on 9 and 10 October. Maximiliaan Winkelhuis - the author of the book 'Dance To Your Maximum' - presented us with his immense knowledge on the three major topics in a very interesting and entertaining way!

As  dancers who are having mostly lessons on technique and mechanics we found that Maximiliaan opened up another perspective, one which we tend to underestimate. With his enthusiasm, authenticity and passion for dancing, he spread some of his 'magic dust' to let the two days become an important moment in our lives. Amazing, how much our mind is controlling our body subconsciously, and how much difference mind control can make for a dancer. We experienced it ourselves and think it is necessary for all of us to address these subjects very thoroughly. We speak from the dancers' point of view but believe the workshop was a great experience for judges and teachers too. We are all part of DanceSport.

We want to thank IDSF and Maximiliaan Winkelhuis for the wonderful opportunity they gave us and look forward to the next IDSF DanceSport Academy workshop.

Boris Susnjar, CRO:

"This workshop was really inspirational and full of new ideas. With these ideas I can enrich and improve my classes. They are vital for me as a teacher. Thank you Max for two wonderful days and thank you for reminding me why I love dancing."

Anja Mashchyts  SLO:

"Very creative and interesting. I feel that now I can do everything. I think this knowledge will help me to be unique and successful. This is the information every dancer should have."

Iliana Iliadou, GRE

"Over 1,000 km in the air, two stop-overs, many hours waiting at the airports ... It was all worth it because of all the wonderful people I met, the unique lectures from Maximiliaan and the warm atmosphere. Thank you IDSF!"
