German Formations on top at the 2022 WDSF World Formation Championships 28/10/2022

2022 WDSF World Formation Championships

Braunschweig (GER) hosted the anticipated 2022 WDSF World Championship Formation Latin and Standard in mid-October. The spectator-appealing event turned out exceptionally successful for the home turf Formations.

The reigning European and World Champion, Grün-Gold-Club Bremen (GER) dominated the World Championship Formation Latin with the routine ”Emozioni 2022”. Having won the last three World Championships in 2018, 2019 and 2021, the team managed to keep up the winning streak and secured the win with a margin of 2.25 points in scores before Moon Dance (MGL) and their ”The Power of the 4 Elements”, which earned the Formation their first World Championship medal. TSG Bremerhaven e.V. (GER) repeated and upgraded their bronze medals from European Championship earlier this year with their routine ”Time Machine”. Star (MGL), Adagio (UKR) and HSV Zwölfaxing A-Team (AUT) were ranked to 4th to 6th positions in respective order in the final. There were total of 14 Latin Formations taking part in this World Championship.

The 2022 WDSF World Championship Formation Standard made the spectators feel exceptionally happy, as the home town team Braunschweiger TSC nailed their final performance and the Formation returned to the top of the podium after eight years (2014), and this time again in front of their home town friends, families and supporters. The margin of 0.388 points in scores awarded them the World title before another German Formation, Tanzsportteam im ASC Göttingen A. TSK Juventus Wien A-Team (AUT) managed to fine-tune their performance after the semifinal, and they were awarded the bronze medals. Jantar – Elblag (POL), DSV Sway of Life (A Team) (NED) and TSC Schwarz Gold A-Team Standard (AUT) ranked from 4th to 6th in respective order out of total of 15 Standard Formations participating in this World Championship.

The fully packed Volkswagen Hall in Braunschweig gave out well deserved standing ovations for the beautiful Formations and their choreographers. Harmony, style and precision were demonstrated as a result of hard work, hundreds of hours of disciplined training by all the teams.
