Live From NYC 11/11/2010

Live from NYC The IDSF Communications team made up of Presidium Member Heidi Götz and videographer Erwin Poschner left Vienna, Austria, early this morning with destination NYC. Once there, they will immediately start producing live coverage on the 2010 IDSF World DanceSport Championship Latin for a dedicated blog and the IDSF YouTube channel DanceSport Total. With the‘Live from …’ format well established and an audience eager to find out who’s entering the annual highlight for the top Latin dancers from around the globe, and which couples are considered the pre-championship favourites to make the final, we are expecting heavy traffic here.

The immediacy of the reporting will again depend on the quality of the team’s access to the Internet. However, with everything happening at one single location, the Brooklyn Marriott, and with optical fibre networks being the standard in the Big Apple, Heidi Götz is optimistic.

“We will try to provide an unprecedented quantity of real-time information from the 2010 World Latin in all phases of the competition, using all our formats: text, photo, video – interviews, polls, results with marks,” Heidi says. “Unfortunately, we are not yet ready to channel ‘Live from New York’ through our new IDSF website, but this WordPress blog should give everyone an idea of what they can expect in terms of content and look from  www.worlddancesport.org that will be launched soon,” she adds.

One of the very first things to go up on the 2010 World Latin blog is the official list of entries. Will the record number of 89 couples in last year’s World Latin be surpassed? Provide us with your views on participation by taking the poll on the 'Live from New York' blog.
