One Year On 13/03/2012

One Year On

We never forget! The power of DanceSport!

We will never ever forget the day of the 11th of March. Our hometown and our beautiful land were devastated. Our families and friends were broken up at that moment.

No light, no bonfire, we were just trembling for fear and cold.

In the midst of struggling with the days of hardship, maybe it was a day under the late summer sunlight and the joy of dancing that flashed across our minds.

One year has passed since we had the earthquake and tsunami, we have taken one step, then another, always praying for a better life.

Now we can say our people in the Tohku Region are getting better.

 Junior Dancers of northeastern Japan

In the Opening to Sunday's GrandSlam, some of the young dancers read out these lines before they took to the floor and danced in what was the most moving moment of the day. One year on!

The Japan Red Cross Society has extended the donation period through 30 September 2012!
