Politically Incorrect 30/11/2015

Of the 28 couples that had entered the 2015 World Youth Ten Dance quite a few had previously competed in the same world championship and took their last shot at the Youth title. Overall, it was a fairly homogeneous field of contenders, but favourites were eventually made out.

The fans of the Ukrainian couple were by far the most vocal, other groups of supporters could not keep up. The venue was the hall where World DanceSport Championships were held in the past and that more commonly serves for sports practised on ice. Consequently the temparature was on the lower end of the scale and the not too numerous crowd in the stands couldn't generate much warmth either. The adjudicators and other officials who were not able move around suffered the most from that.

The opening ceremony was one of the positive highlights, that dancing was brought to a halt at a later stage to broadcast a highly political address by the prime minister of the Ukraine over the PA system was more of a nuisance.

In the end, the couples that were most balanced between the two sections prevailed. Deserving World Champions were Vladislav Kolesnikov and Anna Isakovich, RUS.
