Star Cup 2021 gave us a bit of hope 21/02/2021

It has already been quite some time, and we are sure that all dancers are eagerly waiting to come back to the dancefloor.

Some National Member Bodies have been able to organize national events, but travel restrictions and the new normal, where we are still living in, have made it impossible to travel and compete for many - and to meet with your fellow dancers from all around the world.

And boy don´t we miss that! It was such great news to hear the Italian Star Cup 2021 organizer got the permit to put the event together, however following all governmental and regional restrictions and guidelines.

And as the MC loudly said, many times, weren´t we happy to be there! Competitors were smiling, the atmosphere was excellent - and organizers´ were happy to see that dancers came widely from Europe: considering the travel restrictions. Even though the event was labeled as a WDSF Open, no ranking points were given to change the list - there are still many countries from where it isn´t possible to travel.

Willingness to compete was the name of the game. That explains also the top couples on the starting list.  On Sunday´s WDSF Open Latin there were many star couples and also from the top 10. In both, WDSF Open Standard and Latin, there were approximately 100 couples in starting lists. All wishing to close the long break and get back on the floor to show their hard work and dedication they have for DanceSport.
