Shawn Tay, the Chairman of the WDSF DanceSport Academy, launched the course as a pilot project by inviting three of the authors of the books to lecture at the Tung Hua University in Shanghai. The Chinese DanceSport Federation (CDSF) assumed the role of the local organiser.
350 Chinese trainers and adjudicators attended the course and listened to the lectures held by Italian trainers Davide Cacciari, Fabio Bosco and Marina Ferrari. The course concluded after six days with a practical examination for the licenced adjudicators as well as the new applicants.
Chairman Tay reports that the response to this formal introduction to the new technique books was extremely positive, that the additional information provided by the three authors was much appreciated, and that CDSF will now translate the books and use them for its training.
