DanceSport Discipline Development 13/09/2018

HipHop Lena Arvidsson, member of the WDSF Presidium and chair of the WDSF DanceSport Discipline Development Commission, made the following announcement to the National Member Bodies.

The invitation was circulated to all NMBs with two flyers for the two events held in Serbia and Belgium at the end of September and October.

As presented during the last AGM in Lausanne, the WDSF Dance Discipline Development (DDD) Commission has been fully operational for the past 10 months and as the chair of that commission, I’m happy to inform you that the first WDSF granted competitions in Disco Dance, Performing Arts (Jazz, Modern/Contemporary) and Hip Hop will take place in the coming weeks.

Two pilot events have been granted to start with these new WDSF disciplines: On 28 September 2018 in BELGRADE, SERBIA, we will have a WDSF Open in Disco Dance, Modern/Contemporary, Jazz and Hip Hop > www.beodance.co.rs

On 27 and 28 Octoberh 2018 in ROESELARE , BELGIUM  we will have a WDSF Open in Disco Dance, Modern /Contemporary, Jazz, Showdance and Hip Hop > www.dancenation.be

These competitions will be delivered under the supervision of WDSF, in accordance with the WDSF Competition Rules  - with possible minor modifications in agreement with the organisers - and with the judges selected by the WDSF DDD Commission - with the approval from the respective NMBs. All participating athletes will be required to have a valid WDSF E-Card in order to compete, the E-Card registration process needs to be done through each NMB. We encourage the NMBs to promote these events and send as many dancers as possible to support these inaugural WDSF competitions in these disciplines. Kind Regards, Lena Arvidsson
