Where Sport Meets 20/04/2015

SportAccord The SportAccord Convention bills itself as the "World Sport & Business Summit" and it is just that: an encompassing gathering of all organisations and industries that govern and deal with sports. This year it is held in Sochi, RUS, at facilties that were built for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The World DanceSport Federation is represented by First Vice-President Lukas Hinder and Sports Director Marco Sietas. Yesterday, they took part in the General Meeting of the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF). It ended with the elections of new members to the SportAccord and ARISF Councils. Ricardo Fraccari, the President of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation, defeated World Karate President Antonio Espinas as the second ARISF representative on the SportAccord Council. Anna Arzhanova, President of the World Underwater Federation, was elected to the ARISF Council after six rounds of voting.

Today, the two WDSF representatives will attend the General Assembly of SportAccord and the General Meeting of the International World Games Association (IWGA).
